Hackney

Full design project · [Victorian terrace] · [2026]

This period home in Hackney was given a fresh new perspective with the addition of a loft conversion, creating an opportunity to bring together two very different parts of the house into one cohesive and characterful home.

The original character of the period house is balanced with the clean, contemporary feel of the new loft, with the two elements brought together through colour, texture and carefully chosen pieces.

One of the joys of the project was creating distinct atmospheres throughout the home, allowing each space to have its own personality while still feeling connected. We also had fun introducing a little more colour and playfulness into their daughter’s bedroom, creating a space that felt joyful, imaginative and completely her own.

Upstairs, large windows in the loft frame an incredible view across Central London, providing a dramatic backdrop to the softer, more intimate interior. The result is a home that feels both fresh and familiar — an eclectic, warm and inviting space with different moods to discover throughout.
